Compassed About 124

Neal Frisby’s Sermon CD #2149 February 16, 1986 (AM)

Well, once again, in the house of God, how wonderful it is, amen? You know, sometimes I don’t have time to explain it. You know, when I first started in the ministry, before I ever got an auditorium, I decided to not just sit there with it, but to witness and to start praying for people, and there were miracles, instantaneous miracles. And as I was saying, you know, starting in the ministry and like towards the latter rain, the former rain had just about poured out by that time and was coming out of it. And I thought the other night when I was preaching, maybe that’s symbolic at the end of the age where people will be doing miracles right on the streets. How many of you believe that? Because of my calling coming like it did, the Lord revealed real early that we are in the cycle of what will take place at the end of the age. And the laymen of God and the people that love God, and the anointing of the Lord and get this all over them and not telling what the Lord will send people to do. Just before the end of the age, there’s going to be some incredible things. I turned it upside down by miracles and so forth in there. And so, before they had a chance to run them out and so forth like that, and before they had a chance to run you out, you’re going to be translated, saith the Lord. That’s great. That’s before they can really put a complete stop, you know. He’s going to translate the church somewhere along there. Of course, there’ll be tribulation saints on the earth.

Lord, the people here today, they have needs that they want you to meet. Every need that they have, no matter what it is, healing or miracles or material, Lord, you move before them, and you go before them all of the time. You’re behind them, in front of them, and you’re right with them. Isn’t that great? Bless thy people and anoint them, Lord. Let the power of the Spirit come upon them. Touch the bodies in the audience, Lord. Take away the pain. Move on them. In the anxieties of this life, Lord, let peace and a calm come unto thy people. And the new ones here this morning, inspire their hearts to go deeper. For such a time as this, Lord, just before the door is closed, what a time to squeeze on in! Give the Lord a handclap. Amen. Squeeze on in and let the Lord bless your heart. You can be seated there.

Now, He is just great, isn’t He? And He is wonderful and marvelous. I am going to be praying for the sick next Sunday night and probably the following Sunday night and in between, if He calls me to do it. But anyway, we have a message here this morning. There are some other things that we want to be doing. I have come to different parts and I am trying to get into some more phases of my ministry because it is a dual type ministry, triple, sometimes like that; that I haven’t really been able to do what I wanted to do. While other ministers in town have taken advantage of this, they went out and they worked the city over, but they don’t have a national ministry, you see, and they don’t have anything going out. That’s where most of my witnessing is, in the mail; and witnessing comes from. The biggest and the greatest part of my ministry is not locally, it is all over and out of the nation. That’s the way I survive and the way the Lord has blessed me too. And then, of course, this is the headquarters here, which is going to be a really thriving place, and I believe souls are being saved like we’ve never seen before. There is coming another outpouring and power from God. We are in the early stages of it. As you can see, if you have a revival and people come from everywhere, you begin to see how the ministry moves on them. But where they come from is dry, compared to what we have moving for us here. And you should take advantage of it. And the Lord will bless every one of you that takes advantage of it. You know that you’re really not a Christian or really enjoy being a Christian; and sometimes people will have more fulfillment but they’re never really what they should be until they learn the power to witness and to tell somebody about the Lord Jesus. There is real happiness. Did you know that? That’s exactly right. And so, if you run into somebody, if you don’t feel like telling them to go to church, witness to them about the Lord, if they’ve already got another church. But whatever it is, keep the joy in your heart by witnessing to those that need the Lord Jesus, amen?

Now listen to this message this morning here and real close and the Lord will listen to you. Never be afraid when God makes changes. Never be afraid when the Lord starts to move. And I know some people, you know, they want to keep the same old rut. They never do anything for God, saith the Lord. How many of you are still with me? Amen. Some people can’t stand a true sermon from the Lord; I figured that out. The same people say, I’ve got the Holy Ghost, I speak in tongues, and I do this, and I do that. Those same people, the moment you speak the Word of God, you can’t put any more confidence in them. Did you realize that this morning? This is not me. This is Him. How many of you believe that? Exactly right. Sure. I didn’t want to say, and the reason I worded that like I worded it, I never tell Satan what I’m going to do. It would have been worse than that if I had let it all out. How many of you understand me? Amen. I’m dealing in a world that’s supernatural. Dealing in a place where God will come right to me and reveal things, see the conditions of the people, and so forth like that. I’m living in a world where I’m able to see what’s going on. And when I do, I know what Satan would like to do and how Satan will fight against, and what Satan will do to stop a move of God. And this sermon this morning may help you in many different ways. Listen to this. It’ll be really good for you.

Now, Compassed About, Compassed About. If you think you’ve got any problems or what’s happened to you, listen to this this morning. Now sometimes, no matter what the conditions look like for His people, the Lord has a plan worked out for your life. No matter what you see, no matter if you can look around you and it looks like, well, you’ll never pull yourself out of this or get out of this or get out of that, it makes no difference. The Lord has a plan for your life, and it is proven in the Bible. At the end of the age, compassed about, at the end of the age, the Lord has a plan for everybody’s life that’s sitting in this building. Do you believe that in your heart? It’s exactly right. Now, have you ever felt… I wrote this just before I came over so I wouldn’t forget it. Now I’ll get to the message. Have you ever felt you were closed in on every side? It looked like you were pinned down on every side, and yet you’re a Christian. And yet you say, “Well, I prayed, and I prayed, and I’m closed in on every side.” Apparently, you say, “It looks like I’m defeated.” And the devil will cause you in your heart, “I am defeated,” you’ll say. “I am closed in on every side. It doesn’t look like I can get out through this no matter what. It looks like I’m in a haze, where I’m going in a circle. I’m going back and forth so that I can’t get out of this.” Oh, yes, you will. You listen to the message; you will get out of there. It looks like you’re defeated, anxious and frustrated, and all of the worry that the devil will heap upon you. It looks like you’re defeated on every side like nothing is going to work out, but it will work out. I’ve never seen a problem in my whole ministry or anything that people give to me to pray for that they really in their heart wanted an answer, God will answer them, and the Lord worked out their problem. Amen. He will do that no matter what it is, and He’ll work it out. Yea, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth them out of them all (Psalm 34:19). How many of you ever read that scripture in the Bible? Now, I didn’t go looking for that scripture, but after writing that, that is what came out of the pen from the Lord. And it says this right here: When you say nothing’s going to work out, and you’re frustrated, closed in on every side, yea, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth them out of them all. That was put right there. Now, He wouldn’t have said He’ll deliver you out of them all unless He delivers you out of them all. Amen.

Now, listen real close. Get your mind on this message. But the Lord delivereth them out of them all. Don’t give up, but trust, and trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Now, David, he went out because he was steadfast, a man that didn’t give up. He held on to the Lord, and it looked impossible for the Lord to work out the problem, but it became possible, and it was very easy for the Lord to do it. How many of you believe that? And the Lord worked it out. Now, David was tested on the left, and he was tested on the right. On every side, I don’t believe anybody in that Bible went through as much as he had to go through in the wilderness. He was rejected from kingship, turned aside, another man, a false one, was on the throne at that time. And David was chased around in the wilderness. Every day of the time he was tested on every side, until he entered his mighty work, and then he became king. But he was tested on every side. Every one of you in here, sometimes you might be discouraged or closed in on every side, and can’t understand it: But before the Lord really starts the power in your life, and the work and the faith that you want in your life, you will be tested all the way through. I believe, as we get near that translation, that much of that is going to be wiped out. He’s going to give freedom for His people to move. But there’ll be a test on every side, and David just wasn’t tested for a day or two, but it went on for years, seeming like, until finally God moved on his behalf. And he was well-schooled. He was well-trained in that wilderness, and he understood things he would never have understood had he been king before. Then he came right into power and did his mighty work, but he was tested first. And anything that you do today, anything that you believe in today or anything that you do, you will be tested on the left and on the right by these things.

Listen to this right here in Psalms 118. We’ve got it here. Now, it says here: I called upon the Lord in distress. The Lord answered me, and the Lord answered me and set me in a large place (verse 5). Now, the Lord, he went along, and he said, but the Lord answered me, and I was closed in on every side. He said the Lord is on my side, who shall I fear? Man, I shall not fear man (v.6). How many of you believe that? On every side. And the Lord taketh my part, with them that help me. Therefore, I shall see my desire on them that hate me (v. 7). Now, he had idolaters that worshipped idols that hated his God, that hated him, but David said he would wipe them out completely and God was on his side. Now, if you know the Lord is on your side, it doesn’t make any difference what the people do. That could mean less with the great Creator. And he knew that God had chosen him, and the Lord was on his side. And those enemies and nations around him, telling them, for all nations to praise the Lord and all nations to look towards the Lord; and all nations to worship the living God, but they wouldn’t do it. And he was closed in on every side by these nations that were of unbelief and worshipped other gods and worshipped other idols and so forth like that. And no matter which way he turned, they were against him. But David said with complete confidence he would push them back out of the way even before it was done. Now, watch this story here. For the Lord is on my side. Now, David said (verses 8-9), it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Now, he had a few men that were working for him and a few people that were in the army. Now, he couldn’t put any confidence [in them] they would be there one day and gone the next. He didn’t put any confidence in them. Watch; and yet he was a great warrior there. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. He’d seen some rulers that were just as bad as the others. Do you believe that? I didn’t put any confidence in man, David said.

In man’s medicine sometimes, and medicine is not what people need sometimes. You know what it is? What they need is salvation. And sometimes it’s not a psychiatrist that they need but it is salvation from the Lord. That will settle their mental problems forever saith the Lord. Some of them need healing from the Lord. You can’t put any confidence in those different professions; sometimes people ain’t got no faith, they do what they want to do. But I can tell you faith in God–people today, they think this is wrong with them. They think that is wrong with them. They think all kinds of things are wrong with them mentally and physically, but what they need is the Savior. What they need is an infilling of the Holy Spirit. They need salvation and power. And that other will go out of there real quick, because that’s exactly what it means. So, [no confidence], even in princes. Then he said, all nations, he thought, there isn’t a nation around me that’s not against me, David said. All nations compassed me about but in the name of the Lord, I will destroy them Psalm 118: 10). He’s talking to the giant again, isn’t he? I destroyed that big giant and his little boy and the bear and the lion and many exploits that’s not written in the Bible. I’ve got all nations now that are banded against me. They said they’re going to get David if they all have to come together. Even enemies come together to get him. All of them band together but he said ahead of time completely, he predicted, and he forecast with all of them that were surrounding him, he forecast with complete confidence he said, I will destroy them. Glory to God, it’s great, isn’t He? Amen. And the Lord right there with him, the Lord said, “I can’t let a fellow down like that just blowing all that off.” He meant it too. That’s exactly right. And they compassed me around, he said it three times. They compassed me about, but in the Name of the Lord, he said again, I’ll destroy them. And he just kept talking that way. And they compassed him around.

Then he says it this way, in case you didn’t understand how many were around him, he reminded you this way. Here is what it is: He said, they compassed me like bees. They were swarming all over him. He said, all nations have turned on me here. And they compassed me around like bees. They’re everywhere. They’re swarming all over me. Him being in a wilderness while he went in to get honey he said, so in the Bible, honey in the rock, so forth. You’ve read it in the Bible. And they swarmed all over him, but he got something to eat. He was out in the wilderness. He wasn’t very much out there. He had to get what he could out there. And he wrote scriptures and psalms about it and honey in the rock and so forth like that. So, it reminded him that the bees were all over him. They were just nations who were swarming all over him. And he said, they are quenched as the fire of thorns. They shall be quenched just like that. That’s God. How many of you believe that? For in the Name of the Lord, I will destroy them. And as we know in the scriptures reading on down in the Psalms and the scriptures, David wiped them out in such a way that there wasn’t any more left. I think Solomon, his son, had peace for 40 years. They couldn’t even grow up and fight no more. That is God. Amen. People wonder why Solomon had it so good for a while. He had it too good because David went before him with such great power and a warrior and the generals that he had and he just wiped out the enemies. He quenched them like fire in the thorns. He just moved them back like that by the power of the Lord.

And you know we were talking about faith, and we will get to that sermon because I’m telling it piece by piece. Somebody said, “Well you know you use your faith,” and I said sometimes your faith potentially steps back and then potentially knowledge steps into the place of it. Some people think their prayers are failing them. They’re not. God is wanting them to use knowledge. Just like I said, you know, you can go up to the mountain, and you can say to this mountain, be thou removed but that’s senseless if there’s not a need or something providential that God wants to do to just walk up to any mountain and say “Get out of the way [because] I am too lazy to walk around it,” you see. Knowledge tells you to go over, to go around it. How many of you believe that? Or if you want to get across to one city you ain’t going to move the whole city out of your way unless it’s for a predetermined thing for Him to do. So, you don’t use your faith, you use your knowledge. It’s like David. He used his faith. He used his confidence. He used his power, and he used his power to go up against the enemy and then he got to praying and he said, “Lord I’m going up again. I’m going to go up against the enemy with my faith and power as before, but I want to know the situation. What shall I do? And he depended on the Lord and the Lord said, you shall not go up like you have been. They’re laying a trap. So don’t go up the way you’ve been going up. See, he had a type of ministry and a type of battle that he would go straight on in sometimes and he would hit them from every side too. He had a kind of a strategy that he had, but God told him not to use that at this time. The Philistines have figured him out and they’re waiting for him. So instead of using his faith, the Lord appeared and told him, now He says, you look over here and see those trees, the mulberry trees. Now He said don’t make a move. You stay right where you’re at. And He said, but when you see those trees moving up there, see the word of knowledge come in now, he didn’t have to use his faith. His faith was there potentially. In other words, you know his faith to go completely up against something by faith, that wouldn’t work that time yet he used his faith but the word of knowledge came to him and the word of knowledge was, “You just stand still and when I blow on those trees up there” then He says, “make your move.” So, the word of knowledge came into play, and by the knowledge of the Lord, giving him the stratagem that he needed, because after all the Greatest Warrior that ever lived is the Captain of the Host. How many of you believe that? Satan is not the same to this day. He ousted him pretty quickly and said, when that’s blowing on those trees by the word of knowledge, then He says, you’ve been rewarded, go on up and get them, and you will win the victory. He won the victory and there was a stirring in that tree by the power of the Holy Spirit and he went up.

At the end of the age, He is going to move in these trees, and He is going to stir these trees and we’re going to come up with great victory. You’re waiting on the knowledge of the Lord and how the Lord directs and how the Lord moves. Another way sometimes people use their faith, you know, and they use their faith and of course God wants you to have divine healing. Another way, sometimes you have faith, is knowledge in what to eat, how to eat, and how to take care of your health. How many of you believe that? Now you see where it steps in. Knowledge comes into play there in a supernatural way. Now some people just use faith for everything like there’s not another eight gifts of the Spirit. They think there’s only one gift of the Spirit and that’s divine healing or somehow to answer their prayers, that there’s only one gift that will just answer their prayers. Yet there are eight other gifts and there are five more ministerial gifts besides the nine gifts. How many of you realize that? And then there is a time where you step back and use wisdom. There’s another time you step back and use knowledge. Another time you step back and use prophecy or a word of prophecy or something will come, but those gifts are working, and you have to do that. So many failures today, it’s not that your prayers fail, it is that God wants to move you in a different direction and when He does you go through different phases and different things, and He’ll move you in a direction that you will win the victory. See; David moved at a different rate, completely different. And all through the Bible men started to do something, God gave them the word of knowledge and got them out of it; started to turn this way, God gave the word of knowledge and got them out of it. No matter which way they moved they were always using their faith until God had to intervene and show them how to use their knowledge, by His power, and they won the victory.

So, they were swarming on every side and David said like bees but I will trust in the Lord, and David went through one victory, victory after another. So, you may be surrounded, sometimes closed in on every side like walls, have you pinned down. That doesn’t mean anything. David was in that condition. The prophets have been in that condition and no matter if you’re here this morning and you’ve been closed in on every side, there is victory when that happens. There’s victory on every side and what looks impossible is easy for the Lord to do. You do use your faith in many things but then you use your knowledge too, but faith must always remain strong, and faith must always remain in your heart and faith shall be a burning light all the days of your life upon this earth. Amen. Never let the fires of faith burn out, and you will get your desire no matter what it is this morning. No matter which way you’re turning this morning, God is going to bless your heart. I really believe that.

You know with all that chapter about being compassed on each side, I mean much more. It’s just it would take you a long time to get down through all of it that’s written here. And here is what he says now, when he gets down to verse 22 (Psalm 118); David said after all that’s over with, now you know before he was king he was set aside, but he wrote about the Messiah. He wrote about the ministry that would be at the end of the age, the very stone that the Hebrews rejected would be given to a nation bearing forth fruit and to a people, the very Headstone of God, the very Capstone of God, the very Head ministry of the Lord to His people, the real Shepherd, the great God. They refused that type of ministry. It was put aside by the builders, the very Headstone of the Old Testament and New Testament came to them, and it was pushed off to the side, the very builders rejected the main Stone. No wonder their building can’t do anything, amen, it’s exactly right. And in this chapter where we’re talking about all these subjects David drops this by the word of prophecy for not only the time of Christ’s coming but for the end of the age.

No matter what His people are faced with, they will win the victory, because He is typical of the victorious church at the end of the age. Amen. The stone which the builders refused David said, is become the Headstone of the corner. He is the main Capstone. Now this was written where they were swarming as bees. He was defeated on the left, he was defeated on the right but that didn’t make any difference. The Messiah would be the same way, but He would come out by victory so the very stone the Headstone was refused, the Head of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made and we will rejoice in it (Psalm 118: 23 & 24). Amen. How many of you believe that? The very stone that the builders set aside and disagreed with was the very Stone, that was the main One of the building which was the Lord Jesus Christ. David by foreknowledge reached out and said, the Messiah would come, and they would also swarm on Him on every side and He was the very main Stone. But the builders would reject Him of the Old Testament, who had read the Old Testament and Jesus was rejected by those of the Old Testament and the Pharisees, the scribes. and the Sadducees. But the providential people, the people of destiny, the people of predestination, they saw Him as their Messiah. They saw Him as the great Headstone, the great One that David had prophesied that would be rejected but yet would be the main Stone and they received Him into their heart. When they received him into their heart, then that was the seed that He came to at that time, and the others rejected Him just like David said they would do.

Now at the end of the age a powerful ministry; and Jesus said, the works I do shall you do. Did you know how He went about, and what He was doing and all of that? The Lord at the end of the age, the same type of power the same type of ministry that the Lord had will be with us at the end of the age, and no matter what, He will be rejected on the one hand, but it would be the very Stone, the Capstone, it would be the very type of power that takes the ones into heaven that believe in it. That’s exactly the way the Lord is going to come with it. I believe that with all my heart. Broad is the way, but narrow is the path that you walk therein, and it is the Word of God. So, it doesn’t make any difference this morning what you’re confronted with on each side, what you have got on your mind, satan thinks he has you closed in on any side and every side, it makes no difference. Now you’ve got to use common sense. You’ve got to have it in your heart, [mean] business with God and believe me the Lord will bless you. I want you to stand on your feet this morning here. God will bless your heart. How many of you believe that? Amen. Praise the Lord, it’s exactly right. Now he [satan] will think at the end of the age that he has this revival closed off. He will think that he is moving in with big systems, largest religious movements, and different kinds of false doctrines, he will try to close this revival but, according to the scriptures and they are true, and they are prophetically true. That makes no difference to the Lord at all. In fact, the Lord allowed it so that He would have His own people to work with, according to the scriptures. He will wind up with just exactly what He can work with and when He does, there is a revival zone, a miracle zone on every side, you’ve not seen anything like it before, by the power of the Lord. I really believe this. How many of you feel good in your soul this morning? Amen. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord God. Amen. He is really great. I may not even tell you what I’m going to do and just do it, amen. You can’t have a large church without having some kind of assistance helping you and so forth like that and we’ll get on to that later, but I am going to do a lot of advertisements for different things like that, and it doesn’t pay to say too much. You know Satan is just as real as you are standing there. How many of you know that? And in fact, if you just look around you can see him everywhere you want to look, if you really look for him like that, but nevertheless there are great things coming, great revival coming and the Lord is moving in His own way.

I told the Lord, “You move like you want to, and You will bless.” I really believe that. I believe this morning that God is moving on your heart. How many of you feel anything has closed you in or whatever it is? He is going to bless. I really believe that. I will be back tonight. We prayed for the sick over the last crusade we had there. We just finished that, and we’ve been praying for the sick, so be here if something is wrong with you. But I will pray a nice prayer down here in the front. I don’t know what He will have me do in that department on Wednesday night. Anyway, I am going to pray now. Put your hands in the air. If you need salvation, there is no greater time in the world to be a witness for the Lord. Give your heart to the Lord and then be a witness to the Lord. Tell the people about God. Tell them who the Lord is, reveal to them what He has, but give your heart to the Lord Jesus. You don’t have to worry about it. The Holy Spirit will direct you. If you need the Lord Jesus in here this morning, believe me He will move on your heart. You accept Him in your heart, open your heart. It [salvation] is a gift from God. There is no way you can earn it. It is done by faith. Receive Him in your heart and repent in your heart and have Jesus. When you do, you get the Bible, get in here, and you begin to praise the Lord. When you get in this prayer line, you will receive a miracle as you believe in Him. I believe that this morning, So, while the doors are open, while God is still calling His people and while the Lord is still blessing…there will be a time it won’t be open on the earth, it’s closing out fast. Now is the greatest time in the world for people to get in and serve the Lord.

Now I am going to say a mass prayer for every one of you here. Remember the sermon this morning. No matter how it looks, the conditions right about you, God has a plan for your life. The Lord has a plan to get you out of anything that you are in. He will do that by knowledge and by faith in the Living God. Praise the Lord! Get them [your hands] up and shout! Great Jesus! Thank you, Lord Jesus! Thank you, Jesus. Alleluia!
