THE TWO ROADS Neal Frisby Video Sermon
1. Now this message, this morning is a little bit different, I’ve had it quite a while In fact part of this four or five years ago and and I was wondering about one part, I was sitting there and I said I kept wanting to use that on something but I always had something else and so I just kept it there and pretty soon all this message the Lord said We’ll just put that one in there too and it fit right in there. So we’ll have this morning and young boys and girls and all of you together, Listen to this real close and we’ll see what the Lord had for us. Now we’re making this for television now or video whichever way you want to use it and put it on the screen later. Perhaps we show pictures, perhaps we’ll leave it like it is. We don’t know yet, but now the two roads are the dark and broad, the narrow and the light. Now, you know, one time a research company did a research, they spent millions of dollars, and they wanted to find out why people are so unhappy in the land of plenty. Why are they so unhappy? Well, I don’t know what their findings were. It was on television, but I don’t know what it was. They just told that part, and they were doing research, why are they so unhappy in a land of plenty? Well, I believe they’re unhappy because they don’t know where they’re going and if they did they wouldn’t know how to get there, unless God showed them. Now the elect knows exactly where they’re going, they know exactly what the future is concerning their life. They are happy because they have Christ. The others do not have Christ and are a major part of their unhappiness. They do not know where they’re going Because they do not have Christ . How many of you believe that? They wondered; in a land of plenty and there is so much suicides, alcoholism, all of these things and drugs. Why is it like that? When they have almost everything at their disposal and modern conveniences, jobs and different things. So they spent millions of dollars to try to find out; unless they go to the Bible and read it they’ll never find out. Amen.
They’ll come up with this and they’ll come up with that, but the Bible gives the answer in there and they give it there. So we have the Lord Jesus Christ, they’re trying to find happiness and drink. They’re trying to find happiness and dancing their cares away, they have drugs and so forth. You know, while I was working on this message, Friday, I believe it was because I hardly get to watch local news or television. Mostly, it’s major. It’s in the later night news, free networks because I’m busy anyway. I had to come down there a little earlier and they said, local station was going to different towns and so forth like that. You know, they were showing what was happening pretty soon and I noticed that. I went back there the next night, they showed again, and they showed some more. Just a little bit of it, because it was bitter and they showed the people. You know they’ve got these places where the people have these square dances, they have these dances and they have the lesser of the evil dances. They have what they call the square dance and so forth. Sometimes they have drinks and sometimes they have barbecue. Sometimes they don’t have anything. You know I watch them dancing and turn around in there so forth like that. But dancing is of the devil. How many of you know that? I don’t see any of them looking for a church to dance before the Lord Amen. How many of you believe that, and I want to say; I said there’s a certain spirit on that thing in there You know and the Bible always tells about that and the kind of the dancing, the whirly type of dancing.
2. They have it out there and it gets to drinking and they are dancing, and then trying to dance their problems away and trying to find happiness in there. There isn’t a bit of happiness there. Dancing will break up as many homes as drinking will or alcoholism. How many of you believe that? I said, if they just saw that little, it is what they call a square dancing in there. I understand it, if they find out, just where that would lead to, because it would break homes and so forth, like that. So they were dancing their cares away and so forth like that and everything. You know the films, I have films here, I try to show in the films how the whirly dancing takes place and how the drugs and how the drinking, and a carousing takes place in there, and we see it on the film to tell them. The young people, stay away from that. You know, and none of them are looking for a church. You know, I believe David danced before the Lord that’s the only way you can dance. Amen. I mean if you believe it, sure it is. Many people have asked me what I thought about that and some, I couldn’t write all the answers and we’ll get it out this morning here because I have them on my list, and write to me what you think about that. See, see why you have the church; If you can’t get all the facts and the true facts and the sobering facts, how many of you believe that? That’s what I’m sent for, and you listen to what the Lord has to say to you in here. Listen to this right here now. We’re on two roads, I’m gonna get to it in a moment; on two roads, now in Jeremiah chapter 6:16; Thus saith the Lord stand ye in the ways, stand ye in the ways and see and ask for the old path. How many are asking for the old path? How many are asking for the old path of the book of Acts, the old path of the great revival in the old days of Israel? How many are asking for the old paths of the Lord, the Word of the Lord that came forth and not the tradition of men. But the Word of the Lord and see and ask for the old paths. How many churches are asking for the old path? Where is the good way? See, where is the good way and walk therein and ye shall find rest for your soul.
That is the way you find rest, find those old paths, find out what God said, in the beginning and don’t pay attention to what the devil has said afterwards. But find out what God said in the beginning, that’s exactly right, so you will find rest to your souls, look up the old ways, find the old paths in there; and he told Israel to do this and he tells us today to do that. But the Lord himself said, but they said, we will not walk there in, neither would we seek out the good ways, nor would we seek out the old path. We won’t walk that way and they told the Most High they didn’t tell him anything, He foreknew the downfall that was just ahead of them. Now we will not walk there in, so He said in verse 17 also, I set a watchman over you saying, hearken to the sound of the trumpet. That was Jeremiah, that was the trumpet, was the prophet. He said hearken unto the sound of the trumpet, but they said, we will not hearken to the sound of the prophet or the trumpet. See they have what you see today, now, see amen. I’ll get to that in a moment here now, see they’re gonna find out what Now means. We will not hearken therefore hear ye nations and, oh ye congregation. What is among you will be destruction, now how many of you believe that and many more things that God will bring. Seek ye out the old ways, seek ye out the good ways in the past. You’ll find rest for your souls when you do that. Listen to the sound of the trumpet. When the trumpet sounds, listen to it and that trumpet will lead, that trumpet will guide. Well, they said we don’t listen anymore and look what happened unto them, and all those that did not listen to this. Seek ye the old ways don’t get on no new roads. Now the Bible tells us that all mankind is traveling down distinct, two separate roads, and each road leads to a different destination, Matthew 7:13 and 14.
3. The one road has a large wide gate, you’ve heard Jesus talk about it, and a great broad way that leads to destruction to Satan, to hell. Millions and millions and billions of people are all traveling down this road. This road is wide, I mean it is so wide you can’t see the other side of it, it is so wide and there’s so many people traveling down this road and there’s plenty of room for everyone now. It is easy. It is popular. It is a way to travel and be popular and all you have to do is just to be careless and follow the crowd. They’ll lead you on that road. Just follow the big crowds and religion. Follow the big crowds in the world, follow the big crowd in politics, follow the big crowd in pleasure seeking, drinking, drugs and all that has taken place. The road is broad, it is popular, people get on that road, but the name of that road is death. Ah, it’s going in the wrong direction there, so they’re careless as the crowd is going down there. Now that’s a great broad road that Jesus spoke about, but straight and narrow, He said, is the road that my children are on, it is a straight path. It’s not overcrowded, even though it’s narrow. Oh my! There’s peace on that road, there’s no clamor. I know there’s no confusion with the Lord, that road is full of faith, full of love Oh, it is full of My word, It is full of power. These people do not rebel against the Lord, they walk the right road. See Israel, the worst sin in the Bible it says that, that’s liken to witchcraft it’s rebellion, How many of you know that? And they rebelled from the beginning to the end, the rebellion. Now, and so straight and narrow, it is a road of peace. it is a road to eternal life, It’s a road that leads up into the Lord and carried away, the other it leads down, It is broad and many are on that water road many religious people are on that road too, lukewarm systems, many church systems, all kinds of false doctrines, all kinds of cults. Ah, they are all on this road.
There are two roads Jesus said, the broad way and the narrow way. The narrow way has the light of the Lord, the broad way is darkened out, into perdition. Listen to this right here, a terrible tragedy. Well, it happened to one of you. I believe in women’s fear, I am a repeal female. This is an honest but sad confession of one that took the route of the world, a young girl. We read one on a boy, read different ones on men, will have one before we quit here tonight on a man. But listen to this close. “Once I was an innocent beautiful purchase. I was a religious ambitious girl, so I went to school. I had lofty ideals and plans and thanks for my life. I hope someday to have a good husband and a happy home. I love my church, I believe in the Bible, I went to Sunday school, I was inspired to help the needy. I was much loved and admired by my friends”. She had comfort, she had help. Ah while she was in this atmosphere, but she left the atmosphere, She was a repeal female. She had caught a fever.
Listen to this right here, Listen to it real close here, “then from some whom I have thought to be my friends and they weren’t, they were around me”. “They begin to persuade and to tell me other things. I begin to miss seeing church-wise, friends too”. “I caught the repeal fever, I fixed myself up like the world, I wanted to be like a night cat, I Wanted to be the queen of the city”. “My dress was one inch from getting arrested, I prowled the streets like a panther at night. Ah, I Closed down the bars”. “I wanted to be called at 2am Bitch Ah, that sounds so good”. Ah How many of you believe. “I was an expert, I was the last one and I left with one each night, I Was a repeal female”. “I wanted my fun, I am in rebellion, how good it feels for the moment”. How many of you know there’s a payday? Oh, she loved the sound, “I want all the women to gaze upon me, I want the men to lust after me, I want them to tell me how beautiful I am”. “I wanted to say there’s no one else like me. I am the repeal female”. “I have fled the church for better things”. Oh but she’s on the broad road, that is not the narrow road. That’s so far from the narrow road Only Christ can lead them back. How many of you believe that?
4. I cut in on her when she fixed herself up and that’s my Interpretation, for I am well experienced when I was a child to look around and I was a barber for so many years. And I know how that nightlife runs, then I become a Christian by the Lord. So I know what it’s all about. I could go on and your hair would stand up. But did she ever realize that she’s headed for AIDs, for herpes out and the gutter hop.
How many of you know that? Stay with me now. The devil is going from here. Amen.
I tell you what, there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned sermon on the right road. Oh Listen, I want to be that, I want to look like, I want to paint up, I want to look like the night cat, I’m on the prowl watching what these things do. Listen to this right now,
Let’s go down through here After hearing about all the cigarettes, commercials and billboards in the drinking, the advertisement. Oh I begin to smoke. Oh how I love to sit in the public places and blow smoke in their face. Ah, oh I felt important. You don’t know how important I felt, I sipping on my drink Ah. You see what I mean? How many of you know what’s going to happen here? Deeper and deeper that she got and deeper and deeper see it only starts a little by a little, deeper and deeper Okay, then she went on here and she says here, “I went to all these places and I was puffing these things here and sitting in the places having lost my desire to go to church or to be with church folks, I finally didn’t want to be around them”. “I went with the crowds to the dance halls, I went with the crowds to the road houses, I went to the beer gardens and in the cocktail rooms, I went everywhere I could go to find pleasure”. “I learned to gamble, I played the races, I had many late-hour dates. Ah, I did all of these things to the full”. “I wanted more and more, I am a repeal female”. You know that started in 1920s, how many of you believe that amen and it began stronger right up into the day that we live today. We’ll get a little more in this a moment here. Here’s what she begins to say, now this is a true story, It is an honest but sad confession. “Now I have had my fling, have been a modern girl and I’ve had my personal liberty”. Say that she thought she was missing,this is her. “My virtue is gone, my religion is gone, My old time good friends are all gone, My beauty is gone, My pride and my holy ideals are gone”. “Here I am, I’m ugly blurred-eyed, blurred-faced, Smoking cigarettes, a half crazed”. “I’m a drunken sot, I have repealed everything that was good”. “I have repealed the noble, the refined, the beautiful moral and the spiritual in my life”. I have cast it out more and this and more this ago on the 80’s, 90’s as she travels on the wrong road. “The few friends I have are just as miserable as I am and will not admit it”. See the roads little boys and girls all of them had challenged that they can beat that road. I have yet to live to see anybody that drank and danced and ran around that could beat that road isn’t it. Satan is a master of that road, Jesus is the master of the narrow path. Seek ye out the old ways saith the Lord look for the good ways and you shall have rest for your soul. She said “now I am tormented, I have no rest.
I have to have a drink every 30 minutes, every 10 minutes I have to have something to drink”. “I can find no rest. I can find no peace, I cannot sleep. I am the night cat”. Why a horrible confession for a young girl.
5. We need these sermons more often, to save and have revival for the young people. out in the world at 10,12,14 years old. In the back streets, everywhere, seek you out the old ways. God will show you how to walk it, He’ll show you how to move around.Then she tells the few friends that they’re miserable, “My body is diseased”. Well, she did get what I was talking about a while ago. “My body is diseased, my heart is broken, my ideals are crushed”. “My motherly instincts are gone, they are dead”. She sought out the abortion house. See, so she could have more fun, how many of you are still with me now. This may not be popular, but it comes from God, I’ll be rewarded there. See, listen to this, “my instincts they’re all dead, my good family name is disgraced, my character is maimed and ruined, my ambition is all gone”. “My past is evil, my present is hell and my future is dark. I am a lost girl, I am a street girl, I am gone”. “Can you help me”? I am gone, this terrible tragedy could have been prevented had this poor girl put her trust in our precious Savior, He is the whole armor of God. When she left her first love, God removed her candlestick finally, after he’d call after call. Now she’s crying, after he’d call after call out in a world of sin. No comfort, no protection from the church, no power, no faith. Young boys and girls, you may not be perfect in your life, you may not have that and all of it just like you want it, but Jesus will lead you every step of the way. He will keep you out of all those pitfalls. He will guide you to the proper road in the proper place, how many of you believe that. There are many many temptations, there are many temptations, there are many trials for these young people. They’re on every corner, they’re on every hand, stay straight, stay on the right road and God will bless you.
And Jesus said take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest to your souls. My yoke is light and my burden is light, that I give you, compared to Matthew 11:28-30 on that. I’ll tell you what a place, God is really great, you know are the dead conscious after death? Scientists don’t know. Men think that death, that’s the end of it because they can’t see beyond it. They really don’t know but are the dead conscious? Well, Jesus carries the story just a little bit further for us, and tells us in many different places including, Paul caught up to Paradise and they were all moving around doing real fine doing good Amen. Let’s listen to this close, Jesus carries the story forward on, beyond the grave. He goes beyond two individuals, the rich man and Lazarus. Now, there’s another Lazarus than the one he raised and it relates their conditions after death. Lazarus Who in a lifetime was a beggar who died at the rich man’s gate and his body was full of sickness and sores, was carried up by the angels to Paradise, where he was comforted by the Most High. All he had in his heart left this world, the Lord allowed it to happen like he did Job; to reveal these things. All he had in his lifetime was God’s promise and faith in the Almighty. He (Lazarus) made it there and Abraham, as Paradise, that meant comfort, he was comforted, Luke 16:22-25, the word comforted, see he was comforted there.
6. Now, the condition of the rich man, who made provision concerning the way that he could, for this world, but he made no provision for the world to come. It tells us he was in Hades. Afterwards, the other one (Lazarus) went to Paradise and the other one (rich man) went to Hades or hell. He was in Hades and conscious of his unhappy condition. Now you remember at the beginning of this, they did a research trying to find out with all the land, the plenty that there is, 25 on down 23 on down through all those verses, now we find out. Are you conscious? We find out the one in Paradise was the beggar, Paul went there to Paradise. We found out the other one was in Hades. He had feelings because he was tormented. He said in verse 23, he was eternally separated from the Most High God. He had sight, he saw Abraham and Lazarus afar off and he looked at him. Yet he wasn’t in his body. He was a spirit that was there. He had taste, he didn’t have a body, he still had taste. Ah, he could taste it, in that world. He desired water, he said I’m so thirsty.
Can you give me some water, a symbol of salvation? Oh, he was craving salvation. That place will make him think a billion times about salvation. How gracious, how good of the old ways and the paths, how great they are. He desired water in verse 24, so he had taste, he had hearing, because he heard Abraham’s answer in verses 25 and 26. He had remorse, he was so remorseful and the company that was with him, I’ll guarantee you, they and none of them could help him because they couldn’t help themselves. No man could help them there. These are visions and parables of things to come, that will come throughout the generations, and the time that we live in now. Yet, this story is from the Lord Jesus of two people that he knew about and gave the parable for us. He had remorse, he wanted to prevent his brothers from coming to this place, (too late).
No matter how much he hated them, no matter how much in competition he was, no matter how much they were jealous of him, no matter how much they hated him, he still did not want them to come to this place. Ah! He was aroused to evangelism, but it was too late. Many people will be aroused to evangelism, but it’ll be too late. I keep trying to tell them in here, now is the time, today is the hour, see right now is the time for evangelism, for testifying, for witnessing for the Lord Jesus. So he had remorse, he wanted to prevent his brothers from coming to this place and he was stirred. And as I know, the Lord said even though one would come back from the dead, He said they wouldn’t pay any attention to you. If they don’t listen to the Word of God and the power of the Lord, they’re gonna say it’s a crumpled-up something. How many of you believe that this morning, and the story God gave it. A little bit thick of it, a little bit more to it, but that is the very gleaning of it. That is the very fact of it. I’ll tell you what, like the young woman, boy! when they lift their eyes up and on and look away.
Oh what kind of a condition she was in? Oh when they said now they weren’t kidding, were they? Amen, you know I listened to the women’s fib and that’s where I went. “I am a repeal female, I cast out the old ways for the new modern ways”, but see it didn’t work, so did this rich man. He had the new trails and then broad ways of expansion and every way you can think of, sad condition. If you listen to this in the Bible, it is so truthful it rings with such truth, that trumpet is sounding, God is talking. It is a reality, you know the world out of the world, is just a trick for a moment, a snare, a trap and you’re gone. It’s exactly, it is quicksand, if you ever saw it out there, but God has that solid rock, boy! He has that trumpet sounding and it is sounding saith the Lord, it is surely sounding. Woe, woe to those that are at ease in Zion, meaning the church (Zion).
7. See now, let’s get down to this right here, you know, we’ll see what we have here, we’re talking about the world. Now, we’ll talk about what has destroyed so many churches, and so forth like that, and can wipe them out. We have just seen in the nation things through religion, Christianity that gave confusion. A stumbling block and gossip went wild in every direction. Here’s about David and how he fought, because he was delivering the people and winning the battles. I don’t know if he ever lost a battle or one battle after another. The Most High was with that man. No matter what you say God was with him and he was with him there. Listen to this right here in Psalms 52:1 through 5-9, now Doeg, they didn’t get the right name, sounds like dog, Doeg, do, do, Doeg. He went to Saul and he went to talk against David and told him exactly where David went. So he could get him. David wasn’t on the throne, but he was still the king, Amen. That fella (Saul) was in a surfer, God put him there though; but David was the one that was supposed to come, but they couldn’t wait. They couldn’t wait. They can’t wait, they can’t wait for the Lord Jesus, they’ll jump out on the broad road and go to these formal religions, modern religions and ecumenical councils; but they can’t wait on the Lord Jesus. David was a real one to come but they wanted the other one first. So He let them have him and Israel didn’t do like it did under David, the true king. For a moment here, watch this, and then Doeg went to Saul and told him where David was, and so he could kill him.
And here’s what David said, why boasteth thyself in mischief? He’s telling that to Doeg and Saul. Oh mighty man, the king, Doeg and other ones, oh mighty woman or anybody else. The goodness of God endures continually, but what you got trumped up ain’t gonna last at all David said, but that the goodness of the Lord endureth continually there. It’s like a spring of water that never runs out, there is no end to it, but you all have a short-coming up here for plotting against me. He knew they were plotting against him, thy tongue devises mischiefs. See trying to get his men against him and everything else, thy tongue devises mischiefs like a sharp razor working deceitfully, see wipe them out. I ought to know much about a razor, I’ve sharpened many of them when I was in business, you know, if you ever want to talk about politics, I didn’t think about religion just got raised there, you say what you want to and then quit for the rest of the time, if you got a viewpoint. Anyway, I know about it being a barber, and you get them so sharp you can almost touch that hair and it’ll jump all that hair and David said thou devises thy tongue like a sharp razor working it deceitfully and you’re wiping everything out in your path, and Gossip and tongue will wipe out any revival in any church.
8. We had what happened to the Bakers (Jim), or what happened when Oral (Roberts) raised finances. What happened in politics, and what’s happening in the Baptist movement, all that happened there. Well, all of that and the gossip, one running one way or the other, some truth, half-truth, everything taking place. There it wiped out literally hundreds, maybe millions of people from confidence because of all of it taking place and not knowing just exactly what was taking place; and it just deceived, it’s like a razor. I mean, it cleans that hair, it just puts them all out and leaves them bald. You could take it all off and just be as clean and slick, Amen. And so David said they take a razor, and he said, boy! it just cleared the path up. Oh, but the Lord’s mercy endureth forever, and God’s goodness endureth continually. Listen to this right here, thou loveth evil more than good, down here in the Bible, said, what he meant with that razor, destruction. They just caused destruction, now that’s what it took in, by that sharp razor destruction. Now thou loveth evil more than good and lying rather than to speak righteousness. All they did was set up a shop, and lie against David every way they could, to the people. They didn’t want him coming in there, they tried every way they could to keep that prophet out. Keep that king out, to keep the angel out; they sharpened their tongues. They did everything but they couldn’t stop him. Yet he could walk by them in the middle of the night or any other time and put them out of their misery and he walked on, there’s a man of God. How many of you believe it there? He said if I do it, I believe in the time when I do it, I’m gonna do it fair and square. I can do it by faith and I’ll do it too. There’s your courage, there’s your man that has faith and there’s the one that has power, that’s really good. He wasn’t out here in the dance halls. He was dancing before the Lord before, it was over with glory to God, how happy he was. And so he says, God likewise will destroy, pluck up their dwelling place, rule out because of their devouring words of that tongue, verse 8. But David said, I am like a green olive tree, very strong, Very powerful. I’ve got it all from the Lord. I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. You depend on it, I’ll stand there. How many of you believe that? I Trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I Will praise thee forever because thou hast done it. There it is settled and I will wait on thy name, how beautiful it is Lord Jesus. Oh, I will wait on thy name for it is good before thy saints. Thy name is good before thy saints, O Lord Jesus, how we believe you this morning. How powerful the olive tree, said, glory Hallelujah. How many of you believe this? That’s exactly right, God gives you salvation. Just accept the Lord Jesus in your heart, watching this on television. Just give him your heart, you’re on the right road then now get off that broad road. It’s gonna crumble, shake and rattle and it’s gonna roll right on into hell. And get on that narrow road. It’s gonna float, lift up and go away with Jesus Amen.
9. There are two roads, Jesus said, there’s a broad way to stay away from it, that gate that leads through there. But get over here on the narrow path where the rock is at, it is filled with solid rock, you won’t sink on anything. There it is, you said the crowds are a little smaller over there. They are smaller, There’s your peace, your rest, your salvation and eternal life. So what would you do in a message like this? What will you do? Which road are you gonna take young children? I don’t care how little, listen to me and ask your parents if I’m not telling you the truth. This is nothing, but the truth, and they look around from the time they’ve grown up and they can see it. Choose the narrow road of the Word of the Lord and his salvation. Stay out of the broad ways. It won’t last, it’s just a dream in the night. It’s just like a vapor that’s passed on in a night watch, stay with the Lord Jesus this morning. How wonderful and how great the Lord is to lead his people, I hear the sound of the trumpet and I will harken to the trumpet, Yea, and all the people that love God will. Stand to your feet, He is a blessing!
